Key Stage 1: Year 2 – What is a Habitat?

Forests are one of several habitats we'll visit on our school walks. In this session, your class will learn about different types of British habitat by visiting them first hand!

We’ll visit a local green area near your school that has a fantastic mixture of open areas, woodland and water habitats.

In ‘What is a Habitat?’, we’ll cover:

  • Why different animals live in different habitats
  • How does each habitat provide for animals and plants
  • What relationship do the animals within a habitat have with each other

Our school nature walks run for approximately one hour and can take place within the school ground or further a field in surrounding countryside.
