If your school is looking for a fun and interactive way to teach your class about the natural world, look no further!
With our knowledge and experience, we can bring your class out of the classroom for the ultimate nature experience.
Nature is a key element in shaping us all as we grow. The understanding of nature leads to the ability to see where we fit within the ecosystem of the planet and more importantly why we are still completely reliant on the plants and animals that live there.
During our sessions, your students will learn about curriculum topics, how to identify and care for wildlife and take part in activities such as wildlife walks, nature trails and even scientific surveys.
Nursery Fun and Games?
Learning about the world around us starts at a very early age. These early years are key to shaping our knowledge, enjoyment and appreciation of the wonders that surround us every single day.
At Nature Talks and Walks we offer fun and interactive animal workshops for nursery groups, so that even the youngest of us can get up close with British wildlife.
Using the senses to explore the world around us, we’ll lead you class on your very own wildlife safari!
Many of the animals and plants we see in our gardens become characters in ‘story-time’ style adventures during our workshops.
With plenty of props and sounds, children are encouraged to guess what noise animals make, what colours they are and how an animal would act.
Our nursery events offer:
- Fun filled activities to introduce the World of Animals and Plants
- Natural items, sounds and sights
- Confidence building for all participants
- Early Maths, English and Science are incorporated into games
- Full CRB checks and risk assessments for each event
Through games and play-time, we teach essential skills for future learning, and have a lot of fun in the process. By booking a Nature Talks and Walks nursery experience, you’ll be ensuring your children have a fun-filled day discovering new and exciting animals.
Crucially, they’ll take what they learn home with them, as many species we’ll spot can be seen on their own doorstep.
At Nature Talks and Walks we believe that primary school education is key to the understanding, protection and enjoyment of the Natural World. At no other time can we learn as much as quickly with as much enthusiasm as when we are in these crucial years.
Our educational events strive to encourage and inspire the next generation in scientific exploration and discover. Look closer at your playground, your football field and even inside your own school building to discover the amazing species that we share our world with.
With the changes to the 2014 Scientific Curriculum, we’re now offering a completely complementary set of services and activities to help primary schools teach this new curriculum. They assist teachers ensure their class hits every target for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
At the same time, your students will be in outdoor environments, learning through hands-on activities.
We talk about all kinds of creatures on our walks, from the sneaky ichneumon wasp to the majestic buzzard soaring overhead.

Following primary education, the door truly opens to an inquisitive mind. As well as enjoying the sights and sounds of nature, you start asking questions. How does that flower turn throughout the day? How does the frog endure hibernation? What will really happen if the bees disappear? Our wildlife workshops are designed to encourage these and many more questions in a constant quest for knowledge of the natural world.
We build on everything learnt in the classroom by talking your class outdoors, searching for local wildlife species and crucially taking part in direct conservation methods.
This can be surveying different species, mapping habitat types, designing conservation projects and ex-situ study including ID through microscopes.
All these workshops tie in with GCSE and A-Level curriculum and can be tailored to many conservation courses at college or university level.
Help prepare your students for not only a scientific career, but also a lifetime of enjoyment, as the whole picture of the natural world is opened to them.
