Key Stage 1: Year 1 – Common Garden Plants

Daisies are a common school-ground flower. This school walk takes your class outdoors and focuses on teaching plant identification skills.

Through practical and hands-on learning, your class will learn how to recognise a variety of common plants found growing right outside the school window.

In ‘Common Garden Plants‘, we’ll cover:

  • Identify a number of common garden plants
  • Differences between deciduous and evergreen
  • Learn the names for the basic structures of flowers, bushes and trees

Our school nature walks run for approximately one hour and can take place within the school ground or further a field in surrounding countryside. For details on our other Key Stage 1 walks, click here.
