New UK and Europe Wildlife Holidays for 2018

By Russ Leave a Comment

So this blog is very long overdue! The website has had an update, I have refreshed the logo and my work has taken me further afield than every before which has left blog writing very much on the back burner.

Our recent Dorset bird watching holiday included spectacular sun rises, firecrests and spoonbills!

However I am very happy to return to share the wildlife holidays I will be leading and co-leading in 2018! All are now for bookings and includes my first ever wildlife holiday abroad.

Tuscany in Spring – 26/04/2018, Eight Nights

The dazzling southern festoon is on our butterfly list for this holiday.

This year I am very happy to share Nature Talks and Walks first overseas wildlife holiday. We will be co-leading this holiday with Naturetrek’s Paul Harmes searching for Italian birds, orchids and butterflies. There will be chances to take in local culture and species we are hoping to see includes pink butterfly orchids, cleopatra butterfly, audouin’s gull, great-spotted cuckoo and many more.

Summer Wildlife of the Highlands – 11/06/2018, Five Nights

The red squirrel is one of the big five we hope to see in the Scottish highlands.

Search for the Scottish Big Five – Red Deer, Otter, Red Squirrel, Harbour Seal and Golden Eagle. Based in Glen Coe we will spend our days walking, boating and driving through spectacular scenery looking for the UK’s most iconic wildlife. As well as the larger animals, we’ll also keep an eye out for smaller species such as the grizzled skipper butterfly.

Summer Wildlife of the Peak District -13/07/2018, Seven Nights

We’ll be looking for various limestone specialists, such as the stunning bee orchid.

Enjoy the wonderful countryside of the Peak District as we explore limestone meadows in search of orchids and butterflies as well as ancient woodland for birds such as pied flycatcher and redstart. We will also spend time on the surrounding moorland looking for red grouse and mountain hare.

Many thanks for visiting and I hope to see you there!
